How do I forgive my father for abusing me and my mother for allowing it? they have done so much damage to me. I know I should forgive because forgivness is not about them but about me but how do I do that????
Shebana. I have not forgiven my father. I have forgiven my mother for the things she has done to me, but I can’t bring myself to forgive him. And you know, I’m okay with that. No-one says you HAVE to forgive. It’s a personal choice, and if you can move on without forgiving then leave it at that. You may like me one day finally say “I forgive you dad” but until then don’t let it tear you apart. Hugs.
